FAQ’s

Payments:
We ask that you pay your guide in Euro cash on the day of your tour. We do not accept credit cards or traveler’s checks as payment.

Deposits:
We only require deposits (in the amount of your entrance tickets) via PayPal for tours that include a visit to the Vatican Museums and/or Ancient City. No other deposits are necessary to reserve. Once you confirm your tour, we will send you all information in order to make this transaction.

Entrance Fees:
Our pricing does not include the entrance fees but is detailed under each tour so there are no surprises. You will never be asked to pay anything over what is quoted on your confirmation and listed here on the website.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation received within 72 hours of your tour: 50% refund of entrance fees
Cancellation received between 72 and 48 hours of your tour: 25% refund of entrance fees
Cancellation received after 48 hours of your tour: No refund

Skip-the-Line Tickets:
Upon your confirmation we will secure all necessary entrance tickets so that you can skip the line at the Colosseum/Roman Forum and Vatican Museums.

Ticket Reservations:
RomAmor Tours will make all necessary ticket reservations for your tours with us. You need not worry about obtaining your tickets. We got it covered.

ROMA PASS:
Currently, the Roma Pass is unavailable while the Roma Capitale reevaluates the benefits and costs. If the pass becomes available again by the time of your stay in Italy, we will be happy to accept the pass in order to enter the Roman Forum, Colosseum or Palatine Hill (or any other sites you may be touring with us that participate in the Roma Pass) but we will need to know well in advanced whether you will have the pass or not prior to your walk with us.

Please note that this pass is only good for only two entrances into the Ancient City but with the normal ticket, you can enter all three sites for €13.50. Many of the other museums participating on the Roma Pass also have combination entrances with purchase of their direct ticket, which makes the Roma Pass benefits fairly difficult to obtain. We recommend the pass for visitors planning on touring for at least three days and who are heavily relying on using public transportation for the duration of their stay. Otherwise, the cost of the pass is not beneficial. Also, please note the Roma Pass is not valid at any of the sites in Vatican City.

Please check the website for updates on the status: Roma Pass Website

Also, note that the Roma Pass does sell out quite frequently during high season when available. For the best chance at getting a pass, please purchase prior to your arrival in Rome from the website.

Student Groups:
To be young and travel is priceless and shouldn’t cost you a fortune for the best out there. We offer a 25% discount for all student groups (with valid student ID, up to 26 years of age). We know traveling as escorts to a group of kids, teenagers, even college aged students can be challenging. Let us help you move through the cities with ease.

Child Requirements:
We consider 16 and under a “child” and they will receive the child’s pricing on our group tours. All children under 4 are completely free.

Student Requirements:
Italy considers 26 the maximum age for a student discount at various locations throughout the country. We honor this and ask if you are traveling with a student in your group or are a student yourself please bring your current ID with you on your tour. Very rarely, at the Vatican they will refuse to accept a regular University ID and insist upon the ISIC International Student Card. Should this happen you will be required to pay the extra €7 difference for an adult ticket.

Why do we not go into the Vatican Museums first thing in the morning?:
Most of you have probably heard going to the Vatican Museums first thing in the morning will ensure a more private viewing and will beat the rush of other visitors. Now the Roman tour industries worst kept secret, EVERYONE wants to get into the Vatican first thing in the morning. We wait it out a bit, and take you in after the morning rush of large-sized cruise passenger and “exclusive” tour groups.

Strikes:
Italy, notorious for their spur of the moment strikes affect us all. Please be aware though strikes only affect us when they happen at the Colosseum and Roman Forum and these take place only a few days a year. The Colosseum usually does not announce when their strike will begin. Should a strike happen at the Colosseum/Forum on the morning of your tour we will make arrangements for another time, either later that day (usually strikes at the Colosseum are only till noon) or offer you another day to tour with us (given availability).

Should a transit strike happen, (which we receive prior notification of) we will attempt to call your hotel to notify you in order to help you avoid being late for your tour with us. The hotel staff should know this information also. During a strike all transit (buses and metro) ceases from 8:00 am till 5:00 pm. Taxis are available during a strike but are sometimes hard to come by.

Last Minute Bookings:
If you request a private tour within 48 hours of the time you would like to tour, we will request a 50% deposit via Paypal or by Euro cash to your hotel concierge that we can pick up.

What is considered City Center?:
When you request your tour, please send us the address of your hotel and we will let you know if it is in city center. Most of Rome’s popular hotels are located in city center.

Arriving Late for a Scheduled Group Tour:
We apologize if you miss a tour as some things are just unavoidable. Unfortunately, our guides will only be able to wait up to 5 minutes past the time of the tour start time as to not take away from others in the group. If you think you are going to be late, make sure to call us and we will let your guide know you are running behind.

Guide Requests:
We love that our guides come highly recommended and we will try our best to schedule you with who you desire. But in the event your favorite guide is unavailable please remember that all of our guides were chosen because they excelled at their jobs. We are sure that if you loved one, you will truly enjoy another.

English Speaking:
All our guides are fluent English speakers and give their tours in English. If you require a tour in another language, please let us know and we will see if we can help you.

Touring with Children:
The memories of traveling abroad will leave a lasting impression on your children. Our guides are familiar with the struggles of keeping children engaged in the intricate history of the Eternal City as well as making sure their parents are engaged as well. On our private tours, we take into consideration the composition of your family and schedule guides who excel in capturing the imagination and intrigue of both the young and older participants.

Touring with Wheelchairs:
We welcome those in wheelchairs to book our private tours. Unfortunately, because of the route taken on our group itineraries we are unable to accept wheelchairs on our group tours. Certain areas are not accessible to wheelchairs (remember a few of these sites were built almost 2,000 years ago!) and the group would have to split to take different routes through the sites.

Religion:
We would like to mention here that we are respectful of all religious affiliations. While the subject matter on certain itineraries is directly connected with multiple church histories, our guides will respectfully refrain from offering their personal biases in regards to faith.
